STEELHEAD ANNOUNCES FACILITY EXPANSION & STRATEGIC GROWTH INITIATIVES
New production facility, and the addition of industry leading tools and talent will greatly increase Steelhead’s capacity and significantly shorten lead times.
Steelhead Metal & Fab, LLC (Steelhead) announced today the construction of a new fabrication facility at its Salem, Oregon campus. The new, 7,200 square foot facility will feature new state-of-the-art plasma cutting equipment and a 10-ton overhead crane. The new structure will be the fifth building on the Steelhead campus and will bring the total production and administration buildings area to over 40,000 square feet.
“Our new production facility, and the addition of industry leading tools and talent will greatly increase our capacity and significantly shorten lead times. Over 26 years of operation, we’ve consistently demonstrated that we’re at our best when taking on large, complex, one-off projects that require exacting fabrication, proactive communication and mastery of logistics. These strategic additions will yield greater efficiency to our industry leading steel fabrication capabilities,” said Mike Kreitzberg, Steelhead’s Owner
Steelhead also announced two additional strategic additions to its operation. Steel design veteran Pedro Rodriguez joins the team and will manage the steel design and detailing team. In addition to decades of proven steel design leadership, Mr. Rodriguez is fluent in the use of Tekla Structures software, another strategic acquisition that will integrate with Steelhead’s existing suite of CAD software.
“With the addition of Mr. Rodriguez and the acquisition of Tekla software, we continue our commitment to industry leadership. Tekla Structures is the premier platform for steel detailing and BIM modeling due to its purpose-built features for the construction industry, which include accurate 3D modeling, automated fabrication and erection drawings, efficient material management, and seamless integration with other systems. It’s a superior choice for steel detailers and fabricators because it is specifically designed for structural workflows,” said Mr. Kreitzberg.
